Lexi Douville
M.A., Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, EMDR Trained
“We may not be responsible for the world that created our minds, but we can take responsibility for the mind with which we create our world.”-Gabor Mate
After a decade of studying human behavior and psychology, Lexi believes that a safe relationship is one of the strongest containers for healing, and that every individual possesses a universal intelligence capable of guiding them through the healing process. She is committed to being a steady presence as clients take the leap into the depths of their minds, bodies, and hearts. Lexi’s empathy and warmth help create a safe, nonjudgmental space where individuals seeking healing can let their guard down in order to connect, process, and grow.
Lexi utilizes an integrative approach to therapy, collaborating with each individual to meet their unique needs. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor who provides psychotherapy to adolescents and adults. Lexi earned her Master’s degree in Counselor Education with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health from The University of Toledo, as well as her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Lourdes University, where she was honored as Psychology Student of the Year.
Lexi began her professional journey in community mental health and went on to gain experience in a dual-diagnosis treatment center, where she facilitated day treatment groups and developed a 15-week group curriculum to support individuals struggling with severe and persistent mental health concerns and addictions. She has also provided counseling services to college students at The University of Toledo. Additionally, she gained experience working with children ages five through fifteen at Lial Catholic School, focusing on behavioral concerns and mental health challenges commonly faced by developing minds.
In 2022, Lexi completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and feels honored to witness the growth and healing of her clients as they embark on their journeys.
Through her experiences, Lexi has observed how trauma can disconnect individuals from themselves and others, imprinting itself on the mind, body, and spirit, and pushing people into various modes of survival. These observations led her to adopt a holistic perspective on the healing and growth process. Lexi is committed to incorporating wellness into her daily practice through the use of the eight dimensions of wellness and mindfulness.
