Couples Intensive Program
A Dedicated Space for Connection and Healing
Couples Program
The Karuna House Couples Intensive Program offers couples an immersive, trauma-informed experience designed to support deep relational healing and personal growth. When patterns of miscommunication, unresolved trauma, or individual struggles create unrest in a relationship, couples often benefit from focused time and attention to explore and repair these dynamics in a safe, supportive environment.
At Karuna House, we understand that relationships are shaped by the histories, attachment patterns, and emotional experiences of each partner. Unprocessed trauma, unmet needs, or relational wounds can quietly influence trust, intimacy, and the ability to fully engage with one another.
The Couples Intensive provides a compassionate space to slow down, listen, and engage deeply with both your own experiences and those of your partner. Through integrative, evidence-based approaches, including EMDR Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Imago Relationship Therapy, and relationally focused experiential therapy, clients gain tools and insight to create more secure, trusting, and connected relationships.
Our goal is to help couples move beyond conflict and reactive patterns toward relationships grounded in honesty, mutual understanding, intimacy, and shared fulfillment of emotional needs.
What Your Intensive Includes
Each Karuna House Couples Intensive is tailored to the unique dynamics of your relationship. While every intensive is individualized, the program typically includes:
Extended Couples Therapy Sessions
Multi-hour sessions allow couples to address relational patterns directly and practice new ways of connecting in a safe environment.
Individual Sessions for Each Partner
Dedicated one-on-one sessions give each partner space to process personal trauma, emotional patterns, and relational influences that may affect the partnership.
Trauma-Informed Relational Work
Guided exploration of how past experiences, attachment patterns, and individual trauma affect relationship dynamics.
Expressive Art as a Therapeutic Process
Expressive art offers a pathway to healing through creative modalities including painting, drawing, movement, writing, and collage. Focused on process rather than artistic skill (no artistic experience is necessary), these experiential practices support emotional expression, self-exploration, reflection, and integration in ways that can feel deeply personal and restorative.
Imago Therapy Sessions
Structured exercises designed to increase empathy, understanding, and conscious communication between partners, helping to transform conflict into connection.
Somatic and Nervous System Regulation
Techniques to support both partners in managing emotional reactivity, increasing presence, and cultivating safety in the relationship.
Experiential Exercises
Opportunities to practice new patterns of communication, vulnerability, and mutual support in a therapeutic setting.
Collaborative Clinical Support
Multiple therapists may contribute perspectives and specialties to provide a rich, supportive environment for your relationship work.
Integration and Reflection Time
Built-in space to process experiences between sessions, reflect on insights, and allow emotional integration to occur.
Post-Intensive Relational Planning
Creation of a thoughtful plan to continue relational growth and integration once the intensive concludes.
Investment
Program Investment: $15,500-17,500

“Andy and Gretchen created an amazing program that has changed my life exactly when I needed it most. This group allowed me to work through many different situations in my life through movement, communication and reflection with the others in our group. Physically being able to act out scenarios has been so beneficial to my own healing journey and it has helped me apply what I’ve learned into my daily life. This group not only was for relationships with others, but your relationship with yourself. 10/10 recommend this opportunity to anyone who knows they need help but aren’t sure where to start.”
