  • Andrea Ryan

    M.A., LPCC, EMDR trained

“We might think, as we become more open, that it’s going to take bigger catastrophes for us to reach our limit. The interesting thing is that, as we open more and more, it’s the big ones that immediately wake us up and the little things that catch us off guard. However, no matter what the size, color, or shape is, the point is still to lean toward the discomfort of life and see it clearly rather than to protect ourselves from it.” -Pema Chodron

Andrea Ryan is a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) who earned her Masters Degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling through Montana State University, Billings. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology from The University of Toledo. Andrea uses a strengths-based approach and specializes in working with trauma related disorders, depression and anxiety. Her approach is holistic and focuses on identifying how a client’s past impacts their present, including their development of skills to cope with current struggles.

She is passionate about using eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) to promote healing from emotional distress that results from trauma. EMDR offers an opportunity to process core memories associated with present day problems. The result is likely to improve overall functioning and connect the mind, body and spirit. She completed a 5 day intensive training at Chico Hot Springs in Pray, MT in October 2022 through the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association (EMDRIA) and is moving towards being a certified EMDR therapist. She would feel honored to be your therapist and guide you in any direction that brings you into therapy.
