Sara earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at Lourdes University. For the past 25 years, she has served in various roles and capacities in law enforcement. With her criminal justice background, Sara has experienced first-hand how trauma impacts individuals and families. Sara is a dedicated and compassionate counselor trainee (CT) who seeks to bridge the gap between law enforcement and mental health. She is pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University.
Her academic background in criminal justice, coupled with her trauma specialization, allows her to understand better the unique challenges faced by those dealing with personal and professional hardships. Sara’s education, training, and experience have prepared her to work with adult individuals and couples in crises and those exposed to repeated stress, including law enforcement officers, dispatchers, fire personnel, paramedics, nurses, doctors, and other first responders.
Sara offers a well-rounded and empathetic approach to counseling. In her counseling practice, she creates a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore and heal from trauma, manage crises, and develop strategies for long-term mental well-being. Whether working with survivors of trauma, individuals experiencing loss, or clients amid a mental health crisis, Sara is committed to empowering individuals with the tools they need to navigate and overcome their struggles. Sara takes pride in the client-centered approach, tailoring therapy to each client’s needs and employing evidence-based practices to foster resilience, recovery, and personal growth.
